Show Laura Swain received a Milford State Bank Scholarship for $500 to the college of her choice. Fen-ton Fen-ton Thompson received a leadership scholarship for $900 or full tuition to BYU. Steve Wilson received the third Milford State Bank award for $500, for the college col-lege of his choice. And with that, the Class of 79' says goodbye, and says "Look out world, here we come." (mis W ECHO 1 Vickie WhitingJ As the 1979 school year comes to an end, faculty members took time to give awards to the Senior Students who gave 100 in various subjects and sports. Some of those outstanding students are: Laura Swain, Outstanding Outstand-ing Home Ec. student; Jeff Hiatt, who received a fifth place at the State Math Contest, Con-test, was awarded outstanding outstand-ing Math student; Carol Albrecht Al-brecht received the outstanding out-standing English Student; Laura Swain, Outstanding Science Student, while Carol Albrecht received the Out- standing Business awards. Ken Jones, Industrial Arts; Kathleen Birdsong, Drill-team Drill-team award; Ken Jones and Denny Myers, Track; Debra Heath, basketball. Steve Wilson, Tennis; Kurt Sherwood, Football; Todd Lister, wrestling; Ken Jones, basketball. Ken Jones and Debra Heath also received receiv-ed additional awards from the MS Foundation. Mike Lounsbury received an award for his achievements , in Athletics. Jeff Hiatt received a Citizenship award; Laura S"wain and Fenton Thompson each received a Dansforth Foundation award. Curtis Baxter and Rollo Sears were honored for their service on the Milford Youth ' Committee. Nick Leko and Patrick Cassell were recognized for receiving Superior ratings at the Industrial Arts Vocation Vo-cation day at SUSC. Charles Coates and Wayne Lowe received outstanding Drivers awards; Sabrina Easton and Patrick Duffy received re -certification in Advanced First, Aid. Debbie Deb-bie Myers received the music award. Certificates of appreciation appreci-ation were given to Track Managers ToddWilliams and . Chad Hardy. Basketball Managers, Wayne Robbins and Sherman Sher-man Sullivan, Marilee Baldwin, Bal-dwin, Debbie Brinkman, Gina Dalton, Lisa Nelson, and Nanette Dalton andCarolAl-brecht andCarolAl-brecht also received certificates certifi-cates of appreciation. A shocking list of perfect per-fect attenders was read and awards were given. These are the students who have not missed a single school day, or even been late during the entire year. They are: Shauna Dalton, David Gay, Bruce Thompson, Chad Hardy, Lori Davis, Chris Duffy , Nanette Swain, Charles Coates, Troy Hardy, Har-dy, Lee Ann Hiatt, Debra Heath, Laura Swain, and Julie Ju-lie Coates. Laura Swain has received a perfect attendance at-tendance certificate for two years , and Julie Coates has not missed a school day in three years. Last but not least, the part the encourages the high school student to seek edu- , cation after graduation. The following Senior Students were awarded Scholarships: Marilee Baldwin, $350.00 to Utah Technical College; Julie Coates received the Milford State Bank scholarship scholar-ship for $500.00 to the college col-lege of her choice, and an activity scholarship for $210 to SUSC . Jeff Hiatt received a LeadershipScholarshipfor $435 to Weber StateCollege, and a Leadership Scholarship Scholar-ship for full tuition to BYU; Ken Jones two scholarships, both from SUSC, and both for $210 each. DennyMyers received one for $350 for the College of Eastern Utah. |
