Unusual is the wrestler who makes it through a season without some serious or painful injury. One big reason rea-son they do it is that someday some-day they may win or place high in the state wrestling tournament. The youth in red thought through the events of the match. "That's wrong," he said. He agreed that it should be 4- 3 in his opponent's favor, and told his coach. Soon the scoreboard was changed to 4-3, in favor of the wrestler in blue. The match ended a few seconds later, with the wrestler in blue winning, 5- 3. A superb wrestler, he went on to win the state championship in his weight division. The red-clad wrestler, asked what he was thinking when he spoke up for his opponent, said: "I was thinking think-ing I didn't want to steal two points from him.' The desire to be honest won out over a four year goal of winninga state wrestling wrest-ling championship. Such an attitude is developed over many years of observingand being with people parents, friends, relatives, neighbors and teachers. All are part of such development.
