The defense was well balanced for the Beavers, Bea-vers, with David Crook and Chad Dalton leading the attack, at-tack, followed by Scott Williams, Wil-liams, Clay Robinson, and Bruce Carter. The suspense is beginnin g to erupt now with the draw ing board luring the predictions predic-tions and speculations for the play-offs. There are still many "ifs" in the minds of the fans and coaches, which should foster an interesting finish for Region 8 football. - - i by Mel Osborn Homecoming for Beaver proved to be a fruitful day with the beautiful parade, alumni assembly and a victorious vic-torious 27-7 win over the Parowan Rams. After a 27-0 cushion, Coach Al Marshall emptied his bench and all of the young men dressed Blue and White saw gridiron action on the varsity level. Beaver massed 463 yards on the ground and added 18 more in the air. Daniel Robinson found the scoreboard first for the Beavers, Bea-vers, bulling his way three yards off tackle, and Chad Dalton added the PAT. Blair Smith added double figures on the scoreboard with his 18 -yard reception from QB Jeff Williams. Gary Goff ran for 100 total to-tal yards for the evening and also complimented the scor-' scor-' ing with his 36 yard scamper scamp-er in the second quarter. Daniel Robinson was following follow-ing close behind with 94 accumulated ac-cumulated yards. Mike Smith, who took over for the injured Gary Goff, racked up 77 yards and is expected to give the fans something to discuss with his running ability. With the exception of an intercepted pass, which gave Parowan their only score, the Rams had only an 18-yard 18-yard output in the total yards column. The second half, the Varsity Var-sity rested while their understudies un-derstudies went to work. The offensive thrust abated, but the experience was most valuable val-uable for the determined young men who normaUy contribute only by cheering and supporting the regulars. The only Beaver TD in the ON TARGET: Rick Puffer hauled in i:his pass from Dave Pullem and then moved for extra yardage in Friday's game. |
