Show COUNCIL HAS ITS SHORTEST MEET City Council met in a record fessin (since this redirter has covered their meetings) with M?vor Mayer and Councilman Swain missing. Mayor Pro-tem Jimenez presided over the short session. E. L. Smith pointed out to the council that there are several sev-eral alley's in town that are fire hazards and specifically the one running behind Main Street between 400 and 500 South. The Council instructed the City Marshall to take care of contacting the property cwners to have the alley's cleared. Smith then asked the Co""1-cil Co""1-cil when they would have his new offices ready in the Library. Li-brary. Stating that thev were already in violation of the legislation leg-islation passed this year, providing pro-viding hat judges must be furnished an adequate courtroom. court-room. Council expressed hope that it would be taken care of very soon. Council set Nov. 8. at 12:00 noon to canvas the election. Eeitz reported that the garbage gar-bage truck had been fixed and was back on the job. The bill for repair was reported at $1,114 for labor and $542 for Bill Was held un until it is itemized and clarified. Recorder reported, that there was only $296 left in the fund ftr resurfacing the airport, and that she had billings from the Stae Road for $2 869.46. They had expected a bill for paint, of $258.20. A letter was sent to Mr. Bobby Walker of the Stae Brard of Aeronautics for helo. Roy Young reauested that $150 be transferred into the Christmas fund for Santa Claus. It was felt by those of the council present that no afrpement had been made to oil the streets with the developer develop-er and that a.n asessment of property owners would be necessary ne-cessary to do the oiling.
