Show WEATHER SLOWS HUNTERS AS FIVE DAY SEASON ENDS Deer hunters took to the hills last Saturday in record numbers num-bers for a five day hunt in the area. The weather started out beautiful, but overnight turned into a mud-slogging mess as the Milford area reported 86 hundreths of an inch of rain on Sunday. This turned to snow in the Beaver Mountains; left numerous stranded vehicles, trailers, etc. in the mountains. Most of those left i.n the Mineral Range and out west are out now or will be out by this weekend, but there is a possibility that some could be left in the high Beaver Mountains Moun-tains in the s.now for the winter. win-ter. Wreckers have removed all those who have indicated a desire de-sire to get out at press time. No fatalities were reported in the county at press time, one hunter was shot i.n the Beaver Mountains, injuring his thumb and knicking his ear, when he was shot from behi.nd as he looked through his field glasses. Hunters as a whole were not as successful this year as last, but most of the local residents who were on familiar stomping grounds were able to fill their tags. |
