Show Union Carbide Exploration Agreed An agreement between Union Carbide and Vedco Wah Wah Mines for further exploration into southwest Utah mining claims was announced here April Ap-ril 5 at the second annual stockholders stock-holders meeting of the mining company. Making the announcement for Vedco Wah Wah Mines, Inc., was Dic'i Boswell, president and director. Corpoiate head-i head-i SCOTT COOK DUE, TO LEAVE HOSPITAL SOON Scott Cook, victim of a motor mo-tor bike accident that caused him to suffer multiple contusions con-tusions and lacerations of the head and body was doing well at the Milford Valley Memorial Memor-ial Hospital according to Dr. Symond who treated him. Dr. Symond related that due to his extremely fine physical condition, he had come through the accident in fine shape and would be released to go home very soon. The accident occurred Sunday afternoon when Scott, riding a bike belonging to David Perkins, Per-kins, also of Milford, failed to negotiate the curve on Center St. at the intersection of 300 West and hit a broken piece of curbing, which threw him and the bike and draped each around a different tree. Union Carbide explorations will be made into property consisting con-sisting of 28 unpatented lode mining claims owned by Vedco Wah Wah Mines. The claims have been worked for silver and gold and recently for tungston which is the ore Union Carbide is interested in. "A haulage tunnel has been driven underneath the ore and should develope upwards of 500,000 tons of tungston ore," according to Mr. Boswell. Ore values are expected to exceed .73 tungston and 24 acid grade flourine. The Dow Chemical ' patented recovery process, expected to provide a 99.9 recovery, will be used in the development, Mr. Boswell said. Possibly the most valuable corporate property of the Vedco Ved-co Wah Wah Mining Corporation Corpora-tion is located in the historical Wah Wah mountain range near the town of Milford in Beaver County, Utah. There a 900 foot crosscut tunnel tun-nel has been driven. According to Mr. Boswell, the tunnel is a short distance from the cliff vein which has been a producer produ-cer of high grade lead-silver ore. Three veins have already been intersected by the crosscut cross-cut tunnel. "Fh of these veins have exceeded ex-ceeded our expectations. The mineralized areas were considerably consid-erably larger than what was anticipated," Mr. Boswell reported. re-ported. Several other Vedco Wah Wah Mines properties are currently cur-rently being explored in the North Star and Star mining districts in Beaver County. Mr. Boswell said the Phillips Fetroleum Co. is currently investigating in-vestigating mining properties owned by the corporation. The stock is being traded over-the-counter and is listed in the National OTC Pink Sheets. Long range corporate plans include further acquisition of mining properties to be leased to other companies for exploration explora-tion and development purposes.
