Show Federal duck stamp is not required re-quired for hunters under 16. The minimum age for hunting big game animals in Utah is 13 years of age. All residents under 21 who desire to purchase pur-chase a hunting license must have successfully completed a hunter safety course or equivalent equi-valent instruction. If you plan on hunting private pri-vate property get permission permis-sion before you enter, and respect re-spect all property where you hunt. ADULT MUST ACCOMPANY YOUNG HUNTERS Young hunters are reminded that they must be accompanied by an adult while hunting. A spokesman for the Division of Fish and Game said that young hunters 12-15 years of age must be accompanied by a person 21 years of age or older while hunting game birds or animals. Persons under 12 years ai-a not allowed to hunt game in Utah. Residents 12-15 years of age may purchase a small game license li-cense for $2.50; nonresidents 12 and over may purchase a small game license for $20.00. The license entitles the bearer to hunt upland game birds, waterfowl, water-fowl, and cottontail rabbits. A during the respective big game seasons. TON T SHOOT GEESE SATURDAY Waterfowl hunters going afield this Saturday, October 3, are reminded that geese are not fair game in Utah until October Octo-ber 24. In Daggett County, the goose season does not open until un-til November 14. The delayed opening of the goose season was set to reduce the harvest of local geese. Utah's 1970 waterfowl season gets under way October 3 at noon. Bag limit for ducks is six; possession limit is 12. Hunters are reminded that they must have their shotguns plugged to reduce the capacity to three shells. Duck stamps are required re-quired for all hunters 16 years of age and cider, and they must be affixed to the license and validated by signing across the face of the Stamp. Shooting times change daily and are from V-i hour before sunrise to sunset. Hunters should obtain a proclamation so they can become familiar with the rules governing the h' "t and the proper opening and closing hours, UPLAND GAME TAKES SPOTLIGHT Upland game hunting got underway un-derway for thousands of scat-tergunners scat-tergunners this past week, as the 1970 upland game season for Chukar, Hungarian partridge, part-ridge, forest grouse, turkey and cottontail rabbit opened. With the duck season opening open-ing this Saturday, Oct. 3, it will give the Utah hunter a well rounded bag to pick from. Partridge, grouse, and cottontail cotton-tail can be hunted on a small game or combination license, but a special turkey permit is required to hunt this largest of upland game birds. Turkey hunters may use a shotgun or eenterfire rifle for taking turkey. A bow and broadhead arrows also are legal. Turkey hunters are limited to shotguns 20 gauge or larger and shot size from number 6 to BB. There are no weapon restrictions restric-tions for cottontail rabbit except ex-cept for areas open for hunting bighorn sheep, buffalo, elk, and moose. In these areas, cottontail hunters may use a shotgun ,only. Red headgear and outer clothing cloth-ing should be worn when hunting hunt-ing i.n areas open to elk, moose, and deer hunting. The upland game proclamation proclama-tion does not require the wearing wear-ing of red clothing, but wise hunters will do so to prevent any mistaken identity. Style conscous grouse hunters will find they are properly attired at-tired if they wear red clothing like the thousands of big game hunters afield that are wearing red clothing as prescribed by the big game proclamations.
