Show Beaver Trounces The Milford Tigers play their homecoming game with Kanab at 7:00 p.m. this Friday, Oct. 2 on the Milford field. Lots of halftime entertainment plus what promises to be an excellent excel-lent football game. They need your support! The Tigers came back after the half, but never got into the game as Beaver made two touchdowns in the third quarter and ra.n the extra points to end the quarter at 38-6. " In the fourth quarter, Milford Mil-ford reached the Beaver 3 yard line, but failed to complete a pass on fourth down and Beaver Beav-er again took over. Beaver had things their own way and on a 55 yard run made another TD with the extra points for the final scoring of tho game, Both teams should be complimented com-plimented on the excellent sportsmanship shown. Ken Bailey was named 'me? man of the week and Chad Og-den Og-den took the nod for back of the week from the poaches. Both Milford and Beaver were surprised at the outcome of Friday night's fast-moving gams. The score 46-6 in the Beavers favor. It must be said that the game was far better than the score would indicate. The passing of K;nt Swindlehurst and the running run-ning of Dan Ccx for the Beavers Bea-vers made a lopsided score on long gains which was otherwise pretty even. Attendance was the highest -ever for a Milford High School activity which is sparked by the cress-county rivalry which in past years has been lopsided in favor of Beaver. Milford received the kickoff and ran it out to their own 38 yard line. They were forced to punt on fourth down. The Beavers took over and ground out two first downs be fore scoring on a 35 yard march to set the pace of the game. The try for extra points was good and Milford never caught up. On the kickoff, Ogden went right up the middle to the 47, but again the Tigers were stalled stall-ed and on a pass interception again lost the ball to Beaver. Beaver soon turned this opportunity op-portunity into a score i.n the second quarter with excellent broken field running by Dan Cox and Kent Swindlehurst calling an excellent game from quarterback. Milford got into the scoring column in the second quarter on a pass play from Smith to ( Darcy Winn in the end zone which was prceded by penalties penal-ties on Beaver of pass interference, inter-ference, personal fouls and others oth-ers which helped the Tiger cause. Beaver soon took revenge for this upstart by Milford and scored again with a pass for extra points to end the half with the score 22-6. |
