Show THE WIND BLEW, THE DUST FLEW, THE HORSES RAN "And how the wind did blow", and blow it did, both Friday and Saturday at the Milford Lions Second Annual Milford Race Meet. But it's a testimonial to Milford Mil-ford vicinity horse race fans, because even with gale force winds, possibly the worst in 25 years (according to some observers) ob-servers) the crowd was not too far below normal. The races were held on schedule, with only a few scratches, and the concession business was brisk, due to the need tocut through the dust, need to cut through the dust. Saturday were the order. A surprising number were decided ' right at the wire, testifying to the caliber of horseflesh in southern Utah. The shouting is over for this year, and it's off to Parowan for the Fourth, for horses and spectators. The Lions, after the dust settles will get back to their work at the track so that next years races will be even bigger and better. And maybe the wind won't blow, won't blow, won't . . . |
