Show MOSS ANGERED' AT MOVE TO HALT TRAINS Testifying before an Interstate Inter-state Commerce Commission examiner in Ogden Monday, Senator Frank E. Moss expressed ex-pressed "a growing sense of frustration and anger at what I regard as a decision by default de-fault to abandon rail passenger service." The Union Pacific has asked the ICC for permission to abandon passenger trains 5 and 6 Senator Moss said "The subject sub-ject matter of this hearing is just another example of a long series of acts to discontinue discon-tinue the nation's passengar trains one by one. I am am strongly opposed to the discontinuance of U. P. trains 5 and 6. I hope eur opposition is not as futile as it has been in so many like hearings." On Tuesday, Milford Mayor Ira M. Fisher appeared at a hearing in Salt Lake ,and vigorously vig-orously opposed discontinuance of the trains. |
