Show SCOUTS TO HOLD SKILL-O-REE A Skill-O-Ree for all Boy Scouts of the Beaver District, National Parks Council, will be held on Saturday, Feb. 24, in the National Guard Armory at Beaver. Merrill Lee, Beav- er, district chairman, announced announc-ed the event this week. The event ,for all Scouts, leaders and parents, will be held from 7 to 9 p. m. Three competitive patrol events are scheduled for the Boy Scouts in the MIA, and two events will be held for members of the Guide Patrol of the Primary Association. The events are patrol flag raising, knot relay, first aid relay, ankle bandage relay, and fire by flint and steel. Directing the event will be Jay Hiatt, Milford, district campng and activity chairman; Sherman Carter, Beaver, district dis-trict advancement chairman; Mr. Lee; Dick Davis, Beaver, district commissioner; Hal Smith, Beaver, assistant district dis-trict commissioner; and Paul Turner, Richfield, council field director. Ribbons and awards will be presented to the wining patrob from each troop. In addition o the competitive events, the partols will earn points during the evening and during Scout Week in the areas of window displays, uniforms, good turns, and patrol conduct. Mr. Lee said this is an annual an-nual event to help commemorate commemor-ate the birth of Scouting in this country. He invited everyone ev-eryone intersted in the Scouting Scout-ing program to attend the Skill-O-Ree. |
