Show YEHUDI MENUHIN PLAYS ON BELL TEL HOUR Yehudi Menuhin and his distinguished dis-tinguished musical family are the subjects of a new Bell Telephone Hour special which will be presented on Friday, Jan. 19. The program, "The Carnival of the Menuhins," will be broadcast in color over KUTV Channel 10 at 9 p .m. Menuhin .whose multi-faceted career began when he made his debut at the age of 11 some 40 years ago, is seen in his various vari-ous roles as artistic director of England's famed Bath Festival, as teacher at his school in London Lon-don , and as one of the world's foremost virtuosa performers. A highlight of the playing is the violinist's playing of Sir Edward Elgar's "Violin Concerto Con-certo in B Minor," iwith the New York Philharmonic Orchestra. Or-chestra. The sequence .was filmed during Menuhin's recent appearance at Philharmonic Hall in New York's Lincoln Center, an occasion which commemorated his history-mak-. ing debut in 1927. |
