Show GOCERNORS COMMITTEE ANNOUNCES HANDICAP REPORT CONTEST Maurice Warshaw, chairman of the Utah Governor's Committee Commit-tee on the Employment of the Handicapped, announced today the commencement of the 19th annual national 'Ability Counts' report contest. Eligible par ticipants are all 11th and 12th grade high school students. The committee has mailed information informa-tion material to all high school principals urging student interest inter-est and participation. The subject sub-ject for this year's reporting will be "Handicapped Workers . . . Community Assets." Judges will select winners giving major credits, for significance sig-nificance of content, evidence of research, originality, impact, organization, clarity of expression, expres-sion, and neatness. Completed reports are to be in the hands of George L. Carey, chairman of the contest committee, Room 5407, New Federal Building, 125 South State, Salt Lake City, j not later than Feb. 23. The j five state winners will receive awards or prizes to include scholarships, U S Savings Bonds, and an expense-free trip to Salt Lake for a day's activities. activi-ties. The state winner will participate partic-ipate in the national contest and will receive an expense-free expense-free trip to Washington, D. C, to attnd the national meeting to be held in late spring. Utah has participated in 15 of the 19 contests, and has had three national winners. |
