Show MILFORD STUDENTS PROVE BIG HIT ON SALT LAKE TELEVISION SHOW The six Milford High School students who appeared last Saturday on the Herb Kretchman 'Inquiring Editor' program proved to the Channel 2 televiewers that at least one of the "Cow County'' high schools has students who are as sharp as any they can produce in the Wasatch Front area. The News is Informed that after the taping of the show, Mr. Kretchman and others of the Salt Lake Tribune editorial staff, told Principal Jesse Long that the Milford group was "one of the top three" that had ever appeared on his show. The Milford students wound up in a tie failing to break the tie between boys and girls that exists for the 1965 - 1965 year. The TV show pits boys against girls from the same high school, and they answer questions prepared by the Salt Lake Tribune editorial staff. Winning teams receive gold engraved en-graved plaques, and the runner run-ner ups receive silver plaques. After last Saturday's performance, per-formance, ending In a tie, both boys and girls of Milford High School received gold plaques. The sponsors of the show, and the Channel 2 staff, seemed amazed that the - Milford students stu-dents were so well informed about matters ad news pertaining pertain-ing to the Salt Lake area. And viewers of the program were unanimous In the opinion that there aren't any "sharper'' high school students in the state or nation than the six from Milford Mil-ford who met Herb Kretch-man's Kretch-man's questions with correct answers last Saturday. The Beaver County News doffs its official chapeau to Principal Jesse Long and the six students who so capably represented Milford High on area-wide television Mike Sy-mond, Sy-mond, Keith Gillins, Kent Mel-lor, Mel-lor, Barbara Norton, Connie Jones and Carol Roberts. |
