Show BEAVER GETS COMMITTEE JOBS IN FIVE COUfJTY The County Commission appointed ap-pointed or approved committee representatives to the Five County Assn. of Gov'ts, last Thursday on a motion by Eyre. Fred Harris, chairman, turned the chair over to Eyre and then seconded his motion and the vote went Harris and Eyre for, Jefferson against. The representation is a little lopsided in that out of eleven or twelve men who were appointed, ap-pointed, some to more than one committee, only two are from Milford. James Mayer was ap-po;ited ap-po;ited by the Sch-ol Board to the Health and Social Services Ser-vices Committee and Dave Bel-ing Bel-ing is on the Natural Resources Committee. Only three from Minersville were appointed. Eyre is on the Local Affairs Committee with Mayor Paice and Bill Firmage both Beaver. Karl Truman, Minersville joins Paice and Harris on the Steering Committee. Ralph Pearson, Minersville joins Beling and Ronnie Roberts, Rob-erts, Beaver, on the Natural Resources Committee and Brent Smith and Clair Lee, both Beaver, are 0,1 the Advertising Advertis-ing Committee. He also expressed ex-pressed his concern that the Beaver Press would not permit per-mit the use of materials used to print the brochure in previous years, since the County had paid for their cost at that time and should not be subjected to this excessive charge again. He stated that all pictures used by him would be and should be the property of Beaver County, and should be made available to cities and organizations who wish to print their own brochures. bro-chures. It is ridiculous he said that this cost, paid only once by the Beaver Press should be paid by the county over and over and then not be available for the county's use if they change printers. Representatives from the Five County Assn. of Gov'ts.. Beaver County School Board and State Dept. of Health met with the Board and discussed the proposed pro-posed Districting of Public Health Services in the Five County Area. The Commission made no decision at this time on whether to go with the program pro-gram or not. Other business included: Marvin J. Hammond, representing rep-resenting the Continental Bank and Trust Co. met with the Board and discussed bonding Beaver County to build a new ourthouse. There are no plans whatsoever to tear the old structure down. Claus Marshall was appointed ap-pointed Beaver County Road Supervisor due to the death of Reed Edwards. Seldon Nowers was appointed foreman over the Beaver road crew. Authorized easement for a pipeline with Rocky Ford Irrigation Irri-gation Co. Returned bids for service truck uncpened and decided not to purchase truck at this time. |
