Show Inc.- visited George Bush and discussed procedure of floating copper oxide and sulfide. Dr. and Mrs. Fred Joyner of Kingsport, Tenn. spent three days in Milford visiting their brother-in-law, Bart Steely. Dr. Joyner is a scientist with the Eastman Co. Mrs. Steely is spending a few weeks in Kingston. ' N. C. Mrs. Naomi Hughes attended 1he LDS Conference in Salt Lake City Tuesday through Thursday of last week. Lt. Col. Nolan Hughes, Ret. and his wife and son arrived Sunday from Washington, D. C. for a weeks visit with his mother, Mrs. Naomi Hughes. He has just retired from the Air Force and they plan to make their home in Colorado Springs, Colo. Mr. Dave Morris drove to Calif, last week to pick up his wife, Dorothy, who had been visiting their son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Randy Morris, for the past couple of weeks. They returned home last Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Rose received re-ceived word last week of the 'hit and run' death of his nephew, neph-ew, Bruce Rose of Tropic. They c'rove to Tropic Saturday to attend at-tend funeral services then to ITenryville for the burial. Visit;ng the home of Jeanette Kchler this week were the sister of the late Dr. Lloyd KoWer, Mae, and hurband President Pre-sident Myrthus Evans of Los Angeles, Calif. He is the president presi-dent cf the Los Angeles LDS Temple. Pres. and Mrs. Evans had been in Salt Lake attending attend-ing general conference and were returning home by way cf Milford. Many local residents spent last weekend Elk hunting. Some were; LuDean, Bud and Dale Barnes, Ben and Rick Price, Charles and Susan At-kin, At-kin, Eddie Patterson, Larraine Hardy, Bill Rogers and Larry Kenross. Helen Cook spent a few days in Hinkley last week with daughter Judith and husband Elden Oman and children. The Omans have recently purchased a home in Hinkley. Helen's son and wife, Bill and Betty Jean Cook of Delta visited at her. home in Milford this past weekend. Nona Gillins and her mother, Nora Wright, were in Cedar City one day this week attending attend-ing to business. The Rebekahs drove to Delta Wednesday night to attend the President's Visitation. Mrs. Elwood (Allene) Jefferson, Jeffer-son, her daughter Judy Fisher and Judy's daughter, Tammy, drove to Salt Lake this weekend, week-end, where Allene received a medical check-up. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Holland have just returned from a two week vacation in Texas where they visited their daughter and husband, Skip and Judy Briscoe and daughter Judy. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Vernon had as house guests, several days last week, Harold's only sister, Mrs. Alice Moore from Wanship, Utah Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Mapes, Cedar City, former Miford residents, re-sidents, just returned from Ta-coma, Ta-coma, Wash., where they were visiting Clyde's mother, Mrs. Charles Mapes, Mr. Floyd Bekins of Beking, Mr. and Mrs. S. K. Munk spent several days visiting with her sisters and other relatives at Price and Boulder, Utah. Ruth Rcncher of Las Vegas, Nev. spent several days in Milford Mil-ford visiting her sister and family, Mrs. P. E. (Marie) Kennedy. Ken-nedy. Visiting the home of Milch and Eloise White this week was Eloise's mother, Edith Force of Modena. While in Milford Mil-ford she also visited with many friends and relatives. Doug and Joann Killam of north Salt Lake spent the weekend visiting his parents, Cecil and Jo Killam, sister Kriss and other relatives and friends in Milford. Maurice and Janet Root of Frovo, Utah and daughter Jala Ja-la Ann Moore and baby Angela Ange-la of Salt Lake, drove down to spend a few days with his mother, mo-ther, Olive, and father, Max, who is in the hospital. Maurice had to return to Provo for a day's work, but returned Sunday Sun-day night to spend a few more days. Janet Ann and Angela also returned to their home Sunday. |
