The children have not been questioned on their background by their foster parents, although al-though both foster parents and teachers say they are well behaved, be-haved, obedient, and are quick to learn. Each has had pre-training pre-training for the program, and each has been converted to the LDS faith. Participants in the program must be at least 8 years oi age, and in good health. While away from home the children maintain family ties thru letters, let-ters, pictures, cards, etc. They remain in their foster homes for the duration of the school year, but in case of emergency may be released to their parents par-ents on approval of the case worker. The foster parents, who also have been pre-trained in the program, furnish board and room, clothing, school needs, and any medical expenses that may arise. During the year the children are considered as, and treated as, members of the family. |
