Show BE A FRIEND THROUGH RED CROSS Everyone knows how important it is to have a "friend in need." At any time, any place, any one of us may need help because of the uncertainties and emergencies of modern life. As citizens and neighbors, it is reassuring reassur-ing to know that help will be there when needed. Our Red Cross, like a true "friend in need," comes to our aid in peace or war, in disaster or in sickness. When others are hit by misfortune, it provides us with a way to be a "friend of the family" and make their hardships easier to bear. And our Red Cross helps us protect our own families through training in first aid, water safety, and home , nursing. Directly or indirectly, our Red Cross touches the lives of millions of American families. Every year one in every eight persons receives some form of Red Cross service, and one in every three families of servicemen receives re-ceives special aid. Right here in Utah, hundreds of children chil-dren and adults are receiving life-giving blood derivatives regularly from the Red Cross Blcod Center all without with-out charge. Again this March our local Red Cross Chapter is calling on us to give so that it can help meet the emer-; emer-; gency health and welfare needs of families at home and i elsewhere. Now is the time, and this is the place, for all of us to give the funds that will help our Red Cross be "Always There . . . With Your Help." |
