JUNIOR RED CROSS The Junior Red Cross held their first meeting with the now council in the library last Friday. They are sponsoring an assembly as-sembly with movie, and a matinee mat-inee dance on Jan. 29. The members are planning several voluntary acts for the city and possibly for the hospital. hos-pital. The Junior Red Cross is a very worthwhile program which encourages students to learn how to help others. There is a lot of enthusiasm in Red Cross this year and big hopes go out to the student body to make this season a good one. F H A NEWS The girls in F H A have taken tak-en a vote and have agreed to change thier meeting night from Thursday to Wednesday. The club is now getting ready for the annual State F H A convention to be held in Salt Lake the last week end of February. PEP CLUB NEWS The Tigeretes entertained with a very peppy march at halftime of the Milford-Beaver game. This was a novelty march consisting of marching and dance steps, under direction direc-tion of Karen Thompson, drill master, assisted by Lee Ann Erickson and Connie Burke. The Tigerettes are preparing another snazzy routine for the Milford-Millard game, Jan. 31. We would like to congratulate congratu-late the pep club for their outstanding out-standing part in these ball game programs. They really help the school spirit a lot. YOUTH DISCUSSION OF VITAL PROBLEMS A different type of activity took place in our school on Thursday, Jan. 16. This was a conference involving the discussion dis-cussion of problems dealing with parents, family, and friends. The student body was divided divid-ed into groups of 15 to 20 students stu-dents with appointed discussion leaders. Stenographers were assigned to each group to record re-cord main problems. Panel members were assigned from each class to check on their class discussion groups. This program was under the direction of Dr. Beckstrand, Mr. Jim Paramor, a member of the Governor's Council; Mr. Jay Hall, Millard County Agent; and Grant Esplin, Beaver Bea-ver County Agent. This was a very beneficial program, and the second one, which will deal with solving the problems, will be held in the near future.
