Show TIGERS CUP BEAVER FOR THIRD VICTORY After a shaky first quarter and a second period that saw the Tigers unable to hit even a reasonable percentage of their shots, the Rowleymen setlled down and shelled the hoop for a total of 54 counters last Saturday Sat-urday evening, handing Beaver their first defeat and proving to their fans that the Milford Tigers will be strong contenders contend-ers for the district championship champion-ship and a shot at the state crown. Both teams were over-cautious in the early moments of the game and almost two minutes min-utes had passed before Beaver made the first field goal. Milford Mil-ford didn't tally for another full minute and trailed the Beavers throughout the first quarter and didn't forge ahead until Nichols sank a two-pointer with 2Yz minutes remaining in the second period, to put the Tigers ahead 17-15. They were never headed after that. Fowles kept his 20-point average aver-age alive by racking up 23 points, and Larry Reese hit for 10. The only visitor- to hit the two-figure column was Roger Cox with 14. Milford has a bye this week, and next Friday, Jan. 31, they entertain the league - leading Millard Eagles.
