Show CSU WANTS FOOTBALL PLAYERS Some 50 to 60 football hopefuls hope-fuls are expected to report for the gridiron wars at College of Southern Utah Sept. 1 and 2, according to head coach Bruce Osborne. Suits will be issued, physicals taken and other get-acquainted get-acquainted procedures will occupy oc-cupy the time for the first two days. First practice will take place on Monday, Spt. 3 at 8:30 a.m., said the coach. A full schedule of 9 intercollegiate inter-collegiate games will carry the colorful Thunderbirds against teams from Arizona, Colorado, Idaho and California. Annual intersquad contest will begin the season on Saturday, Sept. 8 at Thunderbird Field. Following is the schedule for 1962 : Home games will be played against Dixie College Sept. 22; Mesa College, Grand Junction Sept. 29; Carbon College Col-lege Oct. 13; Eastern Arizona College, Thatcher Oct. 26. Travel Trav-el schedule will include Imperial Im-perial Valley, California Sept. 16; Ricks College at Rexburg Oct. 6; Dixie College at St. George Oct. 18; Snow College at Ephraim Nov. 3 and Fort Lewis A & M College at Dur-ango, Dur-ango, Colorado Nov. 10. Coach Osborne indicated that workouts will be held twice daily at 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. for the first two weeks and the sports fans in the area are invited in-vited to watch the sessions. |
