Show M H S HI-LIGHTS By Ihe Journalism Dept. of Milford High School VOCATIONAL DAY Students from high schools in Southern Utah and Nevada will be traveling to Cedar City on April 15. They are gathering at the College of Southern Utah to participate in Vocational Day. They will display their skills in various fields to win honors and awards for their school. The following are going from MHS and are listed under the class they will represent: Type 1 Karen Bedingfield, Louise Gillins, Joyce Moore. Type 11 Pat Walker, Sammie Belliston and Roger Memmott. Bookeeping Joyce Moore, Rose Bell Mary Ann Banks and Pat Allen. Shorthand I Elaine Gillins, Janice Terry and Linda Johnson. Shorthand 11 Sammie Belliston, Bellis-ton, Judy Horton and Margaret Ann Whittaker. The shop class will be represented re-presented also. The contestants have not been decided upon, as yet. SEMINARY EXCURSION The Seminary graduating class of 1961 made their annual trip to the St. George Temple for Baptisms, Saturday, April 1. The group left early and spent the day in St. George, returning ' that evening'. ! Mr. Paul King, Seminary principal, prin-cipal, accompanied the group on their trip. The fifteen graduates partic ipating have a very enjoyable time. GENERAL BUSINESS CLASS VISITS STORE The General Business Class recently visited the grocery store of Jefferson's. Mr. Jefferson explained to the students how the food was shipped, ship-ped, how it was stored and then put on the shelves. He told them some ways in which to make a fair profit. He explained that articles are handled many times from manufacturers to individual consumers. The students would like to express ex-press their thanks to Mr. Jefferson Jeffer-son for his interesting explanations explana-tions and tour of the grocery department. SENIOR SLUFF Friday morning, April 7, at 4:00 a.m. the seniors of Milford High School will begin their annual Senior Sluff to Las Vegas, Nevada. They will stop in St. George and eat breakfast, from there they will ti'avel to Nellis Air Force Base. In "the afternoon the group will take in all the sights at Hoover Dam. At Midnight all the students will enjoy a floor show at the Thunderbird Hotel. Saturday morning will be free ' time for all and the group will leave shortly after noon. This will be the end of their long awaited SENIOR SLUFF. JUNIOR PROM The Milford High School Junior Jun-ior class has been very busy this last two weeks, with bake sales and candy sales to raise money for the Junior Prom. The Junior Prom will be presented pre-sented April 14, at 8:30 p.m. The theme, of the prom is, "Orchids in the Moonlight". The prices will be $1.75 for couples and $1.00 for extra ladies. , The prom is coming along very I well, and the Junior class is very ! proud of the fine way in which the class members are all helping carry on the tradition of fine proms at MHS. Let's all give the Juniors our support and come to the JUNIOR PROM APRIL 14. |
