Show M H S Journalists Visit j News Office; Study 'Problems of Publishing' "We didn't realize it took so much work." This was the comment com-ment of the Journalism class after a visit to The News office Monday, April 3. - Steve Williams, publisher of The Beaver County News, conducted con-ducted the students on a tour through his new office, located at 310 South Main. This new building build-ing is much bigger and nicer. The members of the class were impressd by the many different machines used for various jobs. They were surprised to learn it took so many machines to put out a paper. Of special interest was the linotype which sets up the type for the paper, and the plates used for advertising. The Journalism class, which consists of Marie Barton, Betty Cook, Lola Lamb, Judy Mayer, Lowell Mellor, Kathleen Myers, Dean Thomas, Janice Terry, and Pat Walker with teacher Mrs. McCulley, enjoyed this trip very much and learned much about newspaper work from this visit. They would like to express their thanks to Mr. Williams for a well-conducted and interesting tour. |
