Show Holiday On Ice Stages 'Prairie Pow Wow' Holiday On Ice, 1961, will take you for a pow-wow on the prairie when the 16th frosted edition opens op-ens in Salt Lake City this Friday, September 16, for 10 big days at the Utah State Fair. The entire cast goes on an entertainment warpath war-path when "Teepees and Totem Poles" explodes in a riot of color on the ice-stage. Lovely Jinx Clark is starred in the Indian spectacle and joins with Alfredo Mendoza for an unusual acro-adagio specialty against a dazzling daz-zling background of teepes, tomtoms, tom-toms, and feathers. The role of an Indian princess is just right for Jinx and will delight her many fans. The Glamour-"Icers" and "Ice"-Squires "Ice"-Squires appear as squaws and braves in costumes of feathered magnificence as they interpret the frenzied dances of the prairie tribes. The wonder of black-light provides an unusual effect as it captures the ensemble action. "Teepees and Totem Poles" was staged by Chester Hale, Holiday's famed choreographer, and he iced it in the great tradition of one of his most memorable movie successes, suc-cesses, "Rose Marie." |
