Show : 1 Sportsmen Urged to Join State Federation "Only through organized efforts can the more than 200,000 sportsmen sports-men of Utah hope to solve the many problems that affect the future fu-ture of hunting and fishing in this state." That was the statement of Jack Allshouse, president of the Utah Wildlife Federation, who spent most of last week attending various hearings in Salt Lake City on matters of boating regulations and other problems. "If the sportsment of Utah want to perpetuate the hunting and fishing, fish-ing, both for themselves and those who follow in the years ahead, then it's time to wake up to the need for organized efforts. The Utah Wildlife Federation was set up 31 years ago as the 'voice of the sportsmen.' And now, more than ever before, that 'voice' is needed in the halls of our legislatures, both at home and in Washington. The Utah Wildlife Federation is an affiliate of the National Wildlife Wild-life Federation, which, in turn, represents over two million sportsmen sports-men in the 50 states. I strongly urge the sportsmen of Utah to become be-come sustaining members of our Federation, so that we can carry on the work of preserving our wild life and natural resources against encroachment by many agencies. The membership fee is only $3.00 and members are eligibly to compete com-pete for 112 prizes worth $25,000. The Federation State Headquarters Headquart-ers are at 21 East Main Street in American Fork, Utah." |
