Show NO PROTESTS FILED... WEST BEAVER HOSPITAL SERVICE AREA 'ON THE WAY' A major step toward formation of the West Beaver County Hospital Service Area and construction of a new hospital hos-pital for the Milford area was attained Monday at the Beaver Beav-er County Commission meeting. No protests were made by any property owner to formation of the Hospital Service Area. The hearing for oral protests was closed at the end of the meeting, and July 5, 1960, set as the last day for receiving receiv-ing written protests by the commissioners. The hearing Monday was ordered order-ed at the May 5 meeting of the board and there was present a delegation from Milford favoring the district. Also present was Thomas E. Hammill, representing the Union Pacific Railroad. He submitted a statement of the company's com-pany's position on the proposed district in which it was stated that the company would not oppose the creation of the service area; at the same time, reminding the board that railroading has become a highly competitive business and the Union Pacific is faced with an ever-increasing state and total tax burden, in addition to other rising costs of operation. Board Chairman H. L. Tolley of Milford, Commissioner Howard C. Pryor of Minersville, and Clerk C. Victor Smith were present for Monday's meeting, Commissioner Ray Easton of Beaver being absent. ab-sent. Ken Ward met with the board regarding a license for Kenyon Grove Dance Hall and, after discussion dis-cussion and on advice of the county coun-ty attorney, it was agreed the county would issue him a license for the period from May 30 to August 30 for a fee of $30.00.
