Show 'JOEY' EYRE NOTES 83RD BIRTH DATE Joseph E. Eyre, known to his many friends as "Joey." quietly observed his S3rd birth anniversary anniver-sary at his home in Minersville with his daughter Mildred and his sister, Mi s. Pauline Carter. Mr. Eyre has earned an enviable reputation for his ability at irrigating irri-gating farmland, a work he performed per-formed until recent years. He has been a farmer and stockman, but as a young man freighted merchandise mer-chandise from Milford to Delamar, Pioche and Panaca. New lie recalls re-calls that freighters were paid SI. 25 per 100 pounds, and sometimes some-times a trip required 12 days. At one tims he freighted gold boullion. Mr. Eyre was born Jan. 2, 1S77, at Minersville, a son of Edwin and Melinva Myers Eyre. He married I Lula Zabriskie in the St. George LDS Temple May 10, 1S9S. Eight . children were born to the union, four of whom are living: Mrs. Mildred Mil-dred Martin, Minersville, Mrs. Lucile Critser and Garn Eyre, Las Vegas; and Mrs. Garnctta Dotson, Orem; he also has 21 grandchildren, grandchil-dren, and seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Paulina Paul-ina Carter, Minersville, and Mrs. Martha Walker, Murray. |
