Show Items of Interest About People You Know in Milford Coui-se 11 Second Ward Sunday Sun-day School class held a holiday pai-ty in the LDS Church Dec. 30. The group played volley ball, then gathered at the home of Jean Norton Nor-ton where spaghetti and root beer floats were served to the teacher, Mrs. Beth Fisher, and Sally Williams, Wil-liams, Helen Jean Gillins, Sandra Beard, Terry Fisher, Sue Ann Thompson, Ronald Simpkins, Roger Rog-er Myers, Billie Martin and Dick Walker. Renee Norton assisted with the serving. A Friday visitor at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ira Fisher was a relative, rel-ative, Kenneth Hunt of Enterprise. Mr. and Mrs. Vance Roberts and children spent the New Year holidays holi-days in Fairview with Mrs. Roberts' Rob-erts' relatives. i Friends who called at the home of Mrs. Gwen Ogden on the afternoon after-noon of Jan. 6, to wish her a happy birthday, were Margaret Mahoney, Rac Anderson, Loretta Cline, Wilma Weston, Faye Berger, Phyllis Keetch, Fern Burbidge, Nelda Memmott and Ina Norton. The Old Timers and Auxiliary will hold a joint meeting Saturday evening in St. Bridget's recreation hall. Installation of officers for the men will be held during the evening, and special entertainment has been planned. Skip Carlson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Vic Carlson, and a friend, Seth White, son of Dr. and Mrs. Seth White of Ogden, and Darwin Christensen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jay Christensen of Richfield, spent part of the holidays in Milford Mil-ford with Ned Kohler. Ned alsc spent three days in Richfield with Danwin. Mr. and Mrs. James Mash and two children will stop in Milford this week for three days' visit at the home of Dr. and Mrs Lloyd Kohler, en route to Phoenix, Ariz., where Mr. Mash has been transferred trans-ferred as airway traffic control specialist. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Rollins have sold their farm to Ralph Pearson of Minersville. They plan to move from Milford in May. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Garfield spent the Christmas' holidays in Layton with their son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Neil Garfield. Their grandson Stephen returned to Milford Mil-ford for a short visit. A WEDDING CEREMONY at 10 o'clock on the morning of Wednesday, Wed-nesday, Dec. 31st, at the Harry C. Meeker home, united in marriage Miss Kathleen Louise Meeker and Mr. Ted G. Pokey, son of Mr. and Mrs. K. L. Pokey of Salt Lake. The Rev. Mrs. Myrtle White officiated of-ficiated at the ceremony. Given in marriage by her lather, lath-er, the bride was lovely in a gown of white silk, net and lace, ballerina bal-lerina length. A fitted bodice and full apron skirt ruffled in the back from the waist to the hemline with a bow at the waist completing the effect. She wore matching gloves and a finger-tip net veil. She carried car-ried a white Bible given by her great-grandmother, Mrs. J. E. Munsel of Goff, Kansas, marked with an orchid. Wearing pastel blue formals were Miss Doris Clements, maid of honor; Miss Sonia Coleman, bridesmaid, and the bride's sister Linda, junior bridesmaid. They wore pink carnation corsages. Nathan B. Smith acted as best man, and the brother of the bride, Jack, was the usher. The bridegroom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Pokey, and the grandmother grand-mother of the bride, Mrs. Zella Tucker of Goff, Kansas, were out-of-town relatives attending the ceremony. A wedding cake made and decorated dec-orated by Mrs. Tom James and Mrs. J. P. Holm was served to the 26 relatives and close friends. The couple left the same day for a wedding trip to Las Vegas and Southern California. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Rose have moved into the rental home of Mr. and Mrs. Carlyle Stott. Mrs. Eva Beard, who has been in Rupert, Idaho, with her son Harold, is now visiting her son Vernon and family in Atwater, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. II. W. Terry and six children of Asequia, Idaho, visited Mr., and Mrs. Ira Fisher from Sunday through Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Gael Elmer of Springville were in Milford Friday attending funeral services for Roy Cottrell. Mr. and Mrs. Parley Fisher of St. George were here recently visiting vis-iting their children and grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. V. W. Spainhower enjoyed visits from their children during the holidays, including Jer-rold Jer-rold of Salt Lake, Mr. and Mrs. George D. Spainhower and children chil-dren of LaHabra, Calif., and Mrs. Ray Kesler and children of Adams-ville. Adams-ville. While in Pioche recently attending attend-ing the Lineoln-Milford basketball game, Mr. and Mrs. James Hardy called on Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Easton. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Davis, Mr. and Mrs. Delmer Kirk and Mr. and Mrs. Warren Johnson spent three days of last week end in Las Vegas. Mrs. Morris Nielson and family are in Milford at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. F. Crane. Monday Mrs. Crane and Mrs. Nielson motored to Cedar City to visit Robert Crane. Fred Gillam, son of Mr. and Mrs. Doug Gillam, was home on furlough from Ft. Campbell, Ky., for the Christmas holidays. Visitors over the holidays at the home of (Mrs. John Killam were her daughter, Betty Hancock, and granddaughter Karen Kay, from Denver, Colo. They also visited the Cecil Killam and Bob Killam families, and enjoyed a family dinner on Dec. 26. Mr. and Mrs. Truman Bradfield and daughter of Minersville and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Yount and children are in Los Angeles at the homes of Mrs. Bradfield's and Mrs. Yotmt's sister, Mrs. Idortna CSbn; brother and sister in lav, Mr. and Mrs. Dick White; and the Bradfield's son in law and daughter, daugh-ter, Mr. and Mrs. D. J. Smith. , Mr. and Mrs. Frank White have returned from a week end trip to Spanish Fork, where they visited Mrs. White's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Perkins. Mr. Perkins Per-kins is recuperating after a serious ser-ious illness. Sego Lily Division to the G I A will install new officers at their dinner meeting Thursday at the home of Mrs. Wanda Holm. Mr. and Mrs. Carlyle Gronning of Salt Lake were in Milford last week end. Mr. Gronning officiated officiat-ed at the wedding of his brother, Vernon, and Mrs. Carlie Roberts on Jan. 3rd. They were house guests of Mrs. Gronning's father, Myron Vest. Mrs. I. G. Stuck of Salt Lake, former Milford resident, was a guest of Mr. and Mrs. S. K. Munk while here to attend funeral services serv-ices for Roy Cottrell. Dr. and Mrs. L. F. Kohler spent five days of the New Year holidays in Salt Lake with their son in law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. James Mash and two children. |
