Show Milford Teacher Feted By Former Students And P.-T. A. Members Friends, former students and relatives packed the Milford High School auditorium Wednesday evening eve-ning at the Elementary P.-T. A. meeting, to honor Mrs. Vera Bond who has taught in the elementary schools for 32 years. The program, arranged under direction of Mrs. Mary Long, president pres-ident of the P.-T. A., was announced an-nounced by Mrs. Joan Holland, program chairman. Included were musical numbers by the Martin-ettes Martin-ettes Mauri Rollins, Nona Apple-,gate, Apple-,gate, Louise Bringman, Jackie Brinkman, Patricia Bills and Nora Ann Walker, accompanied by Susan Su-san McCulley; and the First Grade students, under direction of Mrs. Nelda Memmott. Mrs. Mae Carter, iMrs. iimma Griffiths, Mrs. Lola Banks, Mrs. Sally Rose and Leland Beard, all former students related some of their experiences while receiving instruction from Mrs. Bond, and the honored guest responded with reminiscences of her years as a Milford teacher. Following presentation of a house plant by Mrs. Long, Mrs. Bond chatted with scores of her former students who had gathered to honor her at the meeting. |
