Show ; Beaver Co. Students i On CSU Honor Roll Fifty-seven students at Col-! Col-! lege of Southern Utah, about nine per cent of the student body, were listed on the honor ; roll for the winter quarter work. '. The honor roll consists of all . students who earned a grade point average of 2.60 or higher high-er in all courses for which they were registered with a minim-' minim-' um registration of 15 quarter 1 hours, Ward Robb, registrar, announced. an-nounced. In recognition of his excellence excell-ence in scholarship. Dr. Royden C. Braithwaite, director and Prof. Eugene Hardy, chairman of the scholarship committee, sent each an award of commendation. commend-ation. Among those listed as honor students were Burke Gillies of Monroe, formerly of Beaver; Carol Hood of Beaver, and Jennie Sue Smith of Mil-ford. Mil-ford. Lue Thompson and Nfettie Stoney are home after spending the winter months in California Califor-nia with their children. Ross Stoney accompanied them home. Tim Mackerell of Salt Lake, spent his Easter vacation at home with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elton Mackerell. Sunday, the three were guests at the home of their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Grimshaw, Richfield. Tim is at' present employed by Garrett Freight Lines. Mrs. Ruth Paice left Thursday Thurs-day to visit at the home of her son, Merritt Paice, in Ruth, Nev. Dinner guests Sunday, at the home of - Mr. and Mrs. Glen Hutchings, were Mr. and Mrs. Howard Hutchings and three children of Fallon, Nev.; Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Keener of Garden Gar-den Grove, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Hutchings and four children of Provo, and Mr. and Mrs. Allen Hutchings and Sam Hutchings. Mr. and Mrs. John Ashworth and neice, Eiaine Neilsen, were called to Cedar City Monday because be-cause of the death of their sister, sis-ter, Mrs. Fern Houchen. Mrs. Otto Schwab entertained Easter morning with a breakfast break-fast for her husband, ' home from Kelso, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Jay Browner and children, Nor-walk, Nor-walk, Calif., and Louis Schwab, Las Vegas. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin White and children of Springville spent their Easter vacation in Beaver with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence White and |
