GALENA DAYS TO BE HELD JUIS YEAR Now it's official. Galena Days will be held this year it was announced an-nounced and the Bingham Canyon Can-yon Lions club is sponsoring the celebration. Bob Jimas has been appointed general chairman of the celebration. celebra-tion. Assisting him are vice-; chairmen: Earl T. James, John J. Creedon, Joe Dispenza and Hyman Smernoff. The above mentioned men comprise the central committee. Other committee com-mittee appointments will be announced an-nounced as they are made. A three-day celebration is j planned, and the dates set are August 26-27-28, reports General1 Chairman Jimas. j This year's celebration will commemorate three events, namely, 50 years incorporation of city of Bingham Canyon, 50th anniversary of the Bingham Volunteer Vol-unteer Fire Department and 50th anniversary of Utah Copper Division Di-vision of Kennecott Copper Corp. First item of interest pertaining pertain-ing to the celebration is the Galena days queen contest. Contest Con-test rules will be announced next week, Mr. Jimas said. Several preliminary and organizational or-ganizational meetings of the central committee have been held to date. Last Galena Days celebration was held in August 1950. O
