Show ACTIVITY FUND REPORT GIVEN A meeting of the Bingham District Activity Fund board directors and chairmen of the Fund drive was held on March 22 at the Bingham library with Odell Peterson conducting and Gwen Knudsen recording the minutes. Purpose of the meeting was to hear the report on the recent re-cent fund drive which was under un-der the direction of Mr. Peterson and his committeemen. Total proceeds from the drive came to $5,155.50 and were collected col-lected by the following chairmen chair-men and their workers: by Mr. Peterson from Kennecott Corp. $600, U. S. Mine $200, Utah Construction Con-struction Co. $50, Bingham Gas and Oil Co. $25.00, outside business busi-ness $75.00; by Joel P. Jensen, Copperfield $281.75; Miss Ada Duhigg, Highland Boy families, $274.50; Joe Miya, Jap Camp families, fa-milies, $135.00; T. Earl Kelly, upper Bingham families, $430.22; Wm. J. Wilson, lower Bingham families, $504.00; Ruby Knudsen, Copperton families, $738.03; C.A. Morley, Bingham businesses, $804.50; Joe Dispenza, ticket sales (K..C.C), $1,012.50. Expenses Expens-es were as follows: turkeys $88.-17, $88.-17, television and radio, $238.00; postage $5.00; printing $155.83; Mickey McMillan orchestra $35.-00. $35.-00. Total expenses were $522.00, leaving a net total in the fund of $4,633.50, added to that is the balance on hand ($347.22). Total amount in the 1954 Bingham District Activity Fund is $4,-980.72. The executive board met in the library again on March 25th and drew up the following budget for 1954, after receiving requests from Bingham civic organizations: organiza-tions: Boy Scouts (includes license lic-ense and insurance on Scout bus) $1150.00; Girl Scouts (national registration) $600.00; Highland Boy Community House $600.00; American Legion junior baseball team -sponsored by American Legion $525.00; Copperton Study Guild (for Copperton Girl Scouts $25.00; Copperfield Girl Scouts $25.00; Recreation basketball league (Civic Center) $50.00; two nurse scholarships ( $50.00); Girls State ($30.00 V Xmas baskets bas-kets ($25.00); and Girl Scouts ($25.00) sponsored by Women's Civic Club $180.00; July Fourth celebration ($350.), Dr. Richards' Wigwam day for Boy Scouts ($100) sponsored by Bingham Volunteer Fire n"t. $450.00: Halloween program, Xmas program pro-gram and Xmas baskets, Civic Center kitchen equipment, street lighting sponsored by Bingham Canyon Lions $450.00; cancer fund $300; childrens' Xmas parties par-ties Copperton P-TA ($100), Copperfield P-TA ($100), Highland High-land Boy ($50), $250.00. In the contingency or miscellaneous operating op-erating fund is $375.72. Recommends to the 1954 BDAF i committee were made the heartiest heart-iest thanks were tendered Mr. j Peterson for a job well done in! the fund drive. Thanks also go to each and every participant who contributed in any way to its success. |
