Students, vendors invited to participate in fair booths Katy Frandsen Special Projects Editor Food at the fair promises to be flavorful with the fair committee's extended invitation to restaurants, organizations, and individuals (that includes Weber State College students) to audition with samples of their specialties for food preparations. "We're looking for all the food tastes of Weber County," said Cindy Williams, fair manager. The fair's recipe for success is to come up with vendors to represent the entire community and its diverse culture. Food vendors should consider delicacies as well as the traditional-style dishes. Anything new and delicious should fare well. Not only is the fair looking for food vendors, but Weber County management is also interested in having you become one of a select number of vendors chosen to supply the fair visitors and exhibitors with hats, l-shirts, and novelty itcms. Some attractive advertising and event packages accompany the major sponsorships and they might be ideally suited to your business. Overall, fair organizers expect attendance to exceed 100,000. In addition, the rodeo riders and their entourage should bring another sizeable number into the area. This poses a healthy new target customer base, so catch fair fever and be prepared. Auditions will be held June 16th at the Weber County Fairgrounds. Appointments must be made by June 1. Participants may pick up applications from the Weber County Fair offices in the Weber County Commission Chambers in Radisson Plaza at 2510 Washington Boulevard. For further information, call Suzanne Goodcll, fair secretary, at 399-8556. An application will be mailed to you. Those selected as vendors will receive a contract for the fair.
