Show Signpost- Monday, May 9, 1988 3 Greeks kick off week Weber State College greek organizations kicked off the annual Greek Week activities this morning on campus. Below is a list of some of the selected activities for this week. Monday 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. - Greek displays in U.B. 10:30 a.m. - All Greek brunch. 11:30 to 1:30 - Volleyball tournament. 2 p.m. - Greek games on the quad. Tuesday 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. - Volleyball tourney 2 p.m. - Greek games at stadium. 4 to 7 p.m. - Night bowling for MDA. 11:30 to 1:30 Wednesday Volleyball tourney. 2:30 p.m. - Greek bathtub races at DEC. 6 p.m. -Hardee's hamburger eating contest 6:45 p.m. - Scavenger hunt. 12 midnight - Midnight movie. Thursday. 10:30 a.m. - Convo speaker Will Keim. 1 p.m. - Volleyball Championship. 3 p.m. - Leadership workshop with Keim. 6 p.m. - Reception in UB Ballroom. 7 p.m. - All Greek awards banquet. Friday 12:30 to 3 p.m. - Area service project Saturday 1 p.m. - All Greek barbecue Delta Xi fraternity new on campus Although having only been official for two weeks, the new Delta Xi fraternity has 22 members and hopes to increase that number in the coming weeks. "We wanted to get involved at WSC as a group, and thought that going greek was the best way," said chapter vice-president Randall Bateman. The group has a minimum gpa requirement of 2.7 and expects all members to be active on campus. New officers are President, Gary Pierce; VP for Greek Affairs, Rich Hoggan; VP for Fraternal Affairs, Randall Bateman; Secretary, Rea Coulter, Treasurer, Tom Lakey; and Greek Council Delegate, Chris Tullis. Summer Financial Aid All financial-aid students planning to attend summer quarter must contact the Financial Aid Office to confirm their intended enrollment status. Because of the availability of funds, college work-study will be offered not only to students attending summer quarter, but also to those who intend to return in the fall.
