There is a drawer full of keys, a closet of coats and other articles of clothing, student ID cards, drivers licsenses...the list goes on. If these things are not picked up by the owners before the - end of the quarter, they will be given away. Scholarships given to area students Six area high school students have been awarded $7,000 Presidential Scholarships that will cover four years of education at Weber State. According to Jim Alvey, coordinator of school services which handles scholarships at Weber State, the scholarship covers four years of tuition and fees and pays each of the six students approximately $300 per quarter. Thomas E. Clarke, Clearfield High; Kathryn A. Green, Bonneville High; Christopher K. Hall, Woods Cross High; Cynthia A. Kolts, Woods Cross High; Tyler A. Shaw, Weber High; and Gary L. Taylor, Roy High were selected by a screening committee from over 60 finalists. Each contestant had to have a composite score on the American College Testing Program (ACT) of at least 27 and a minimum grade point average of 3.7. in addition, extracurricular activities, leadership abilities, character and personal achievements were also considered.Alvey said, "These are some of the most outstanding students in the state. We're pleased they're coming to Weber State." Corrections In the budget story on page one of Tuesday's newspaper, it was incorrectly reported that ASWSC officers had approved funding reunions for three groups. The funding was not approved for those groups. Incorrect information indicating that they had been approved, was given to the Signpost. We regret this error. Workshops held The Ogden Men's Co'nference, being held May 13-14, is sponsored by the Mountain West Sex Desegregation Assistance Center, Weber State College, and will be based on the theme, "The Male Experience." Dan Haggerty (Grizzly Adams), and his father Don Haggerty will start off the Conference on Friday with a discussion on how men's roles and family relationships have changed over the past two generations. The Haggertys' will speak at the Union Station, 25th and Wall, from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served afterwards. The following morning, Saturday, 16 different workshops will be offered from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Some of the workshops offered are "She Got the Goldmine, I Got the Shaft", "The Role of Men as . Determined by Traditional Culture", "How Schools Can Gear Up For Change"," Life as a Single or Weekend Father", and "The Impact of Unemployment on Man the Provider". All conference activities are free, and a free babysitting service as well as a free lunch will be provided. To register, pick up a brochure and fill out the form at the back, or call 626-6650.
