The intramural department has 13 activities planned for this quarter, with entry deadlines for the first four set for October 5. The first four events include flag football, tennis singles, golf two-man best-ball, and co-rec tennis. Flag football is open for both men and women and will be played in each of the CPL and RPL divisions. The CPL division is the competitive point league and is for those who are more interested in the competitive aspect of intramurals. The RPL (recreational point league) is for those who like to have a good time playing the sport and don't have to worry about how well they are at playing the game. Flag football will begin play on October 10, with games being played at noon, 2 and 4 p.m. A $10.00 entry fee per team is required and must be paid to the issue room in the gym. Intramural t-shirts will be awarded to ten players on the top CPL and RPL teams. Tennis singles and co-rec tennis will begin play on October 10. An orientation meeting will take place on October 7 for all those participating and will be held on the WSC tennis courts. A $1.00 entry fee is required and one t-shirt will be given to the top finishers in the CPL and RPL divisions for both men and women. The golf two-man best-ball will begin on October 1 1 . The tourney will start at 3 p.m. and will be played at Schneiter's Riverside Golf Course. Again, a $1.00 entry fee must be paid at the WSC issue room in the gym, and t-shirts will be awarded to the top teams in each division for men and women. All four of these events require that entry forms be turned -into the intramural office by October 5. For more information call the intramural office at 626-6476. Kogan Player. of the. After Big Sky teams began conference play the week of Sept. 17, players were nominated for the honor and then selected. Capturing the first offensive Big Sky Player of the Week Award was Weber State's running back Dennis Rogan for his outstanding performance against NAU. Rogan, a senior from Colorado Springs, Colorado, led the Big Sky one year ago in pass receiving. Against NAU Rogan had 151 yards in all-purpose rushing. He caught nine receptions for 90 yards and rushed 17 times for 61 yards and one touchdown. Rogan is currently ranked as the No. 1 all-purpose runner after the first week in the Big Sky, averaging 145.5 yards per game. He is also tied for the No. 3 spot in receiving at 6.0 catches per game. Nominated defensively for WSC was inside linebacker Marty Mendenahll, but Alex Rodriguez from Montana was selected to share the honor with Rogan.
