UWll v .J: f th .rriot to make it a tighter, smo The Weber State Theater play, The Abdication, was recently chosen as one of only four finalists in the American College Theatre Festival (ACTF) Region 7. Region 7 is comprised of Utah, Montana, Colorado, Idaho and Wyoming. There were 24 entries from the five states and approximately 60 schools were represented from each. To help fund the production's travel, Weber State Theater will present two benefit performances of "The We Now Carry the Commodore 64 WEBER STATE BOOKSTORE Abdication" January 14 and 15 at 8 p.m., according to Dr. Ronald V. Ladwig, managing director. Iickets will oe sold at $5 to help send the production to the festival in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Tootsie is a character created by Dorsey, a down-and-out actor who is acclaimed for his performances but shunned by directors because of his outspoken opinions. Dorsey is living in New York and working nights as a waiter at age 39 when he decides something drastic must be done fo advance his career. So, he auditions and receives the female lead in a daytime soap, which unexpectedly takes the country by storm.
