Show October 9, page 9 WSC art The WSC Art Department Gallery is now featuring samples of Foundation Program works. These are representative of some of the projects executed by art students in the foundation program classes at WSC. The show will run through October 13. The first year Foundation Program consists of a three-quarter drawing class and should be taken in sequence-Art 111, 112 and 113; and a design class sequence Art 116, 117 and 118. In other words, the lower number should be taken in the fall quarter with the highest number being taken in the spring quarter. Examples currently on display are works from last year's students in these classes. Class projects are designed to accomplish such goals as improving problem-solving abilities, increasing perceptual awareness and gaining improved technical skills. The foundation program prepares the art student for advanced work in other areas within the Department of Art. Openings! The Repertory Dance Theatre (RDT), hosts for the showing, will perform and refreshments will be served. In addition, paintings donated by local artists will be for sale, with all proceeds going to the RDT Investment Fund.
