There were ten winners in each of the major sports plus three other awards for special achievement. The winner in football was Dale Mager who helped the team with his quarterb'ackirtg -abilities. Brian Hansen coped the award for his performance on the cross country team. For his aquatic talents Rich Harding walked off with the swimming award. The best skier turned out to be Bob Shane, and the tennis trophy went to Chuck Pomeroy. The wrestling award went to Ben Dew for his mat feats, and ' Kirk Black walked off with the top baseball player award. The top trackester was named Frank Reilly and the best golfer turned out to be Brad Masingill. Ben Dew won the Multiple Sport Athlete Award for his h ;; X . S If J I 9 US?' Willie Sojourner was named the Athete of the year in the annual Athletic Awards Banquet held Wednesday night. Willie who has signed with Virginia of the ABA has rewritten record book while here at Weber. ..if" Larry Dixon was proclaimed as Scholar Athlete for his 3.8GPA. He is pre-dental majorand is planning on attending Marquette Universi-tythisfall. He was on the wrestling tea m. outstanding performances in football and wrestling. Larry Dixon won the Scholar Athlete Award for carrying a 3.8 GPA. Runner up to Larry was Steve Gary who compiled a 3.6 GPA. Athlete of the Year, you guess. Yes you're right it's none other than Willie Sojourner. His talents are s6 numerous that there really isn't room to be- to expound on them. With the end of this banquet the Weber Sports scene slows down with only the Alumni-Varsity game left to be played.
