Show October 11, 1968 THE SIGNPOST Page 3 HOMECOMING Queen's Bonnet Will Hilight Happenings By Carol Nelson Final plans -and actions are now being accomplished as "Great Dates in '68", our Homecoming this year nears. In preparation for Homecoming, the "VS" is going to be rocked and whitewashed Friday, Oct. 11th. The Homecoming Queen Candidates are awaiting the Coronation Ball to be held on October 18th. The Coronation Ball Will be formal, semiformal with the Four Sounds playing. The cost is only $1.50. Monday, the 21st will be the official kick-off to Homecoming Week with fireworks, a rally, lighting of the "WS" for the week, and a stomp on the blacktop. Wednesday night, October 23rd will show one of the highlights of the week, the annual "Feline Follies." At the Wildcat follies alumni and students combine to give a hilarious and interesting variety show entitled, "Waldo, Wildcat, These Are Your Lives!" The follies will be held in the Fine Arts at 8:00 p.m. and the show is free of charge. Thursday, October 24th the fabulous Four Freshmen and hilarious Fred Smoot will perform in a concert to be held in the Fine Arts. Friday, October 25th the Alumni will sponsor their traditional alumni banquet as all organizations work all night to get their floats ship-shape for the keen competition on Saturday.Saturday will start off with a huge parade proceeding down Washington Boulevard at 10:00 sharp. Bands from Utah and surrounding states will be marching between floats entered by WSC clubs and organizations. Floats will be judged and the coveted trophies awarded. The parade and other campus highlights will be televised in color over KSL-TV channel 5 at 4:00 p.m. that Saturday. After the parade the visiting ISU students and visiting bands will be fed, compliments of WSC. The focus will then go to the Homecoming football game to be played with Idaho State University. The Wildcats will battle this out with plenty of built up homecoming spirit behind them. The bands will march in pre-game activities at 1 :00 p.m. At half-time, Homecoming Queen and attendants and the winning floats will be shown off. Then WSC will proceed to squelch ISU. All will gather at the final big traditional Homecoming Dance in the U.B. to be held at 9:00 p.m. Tim Bates Band will play at the best dress dance, which will cost $2.00 per couple. All involved have put a lot of planning and work into this year's Homecoming; and from the schedule of events it looks as if our Homecoming this year will definitely prove to be a "Great Date in '68."
