S. The commission is taking all possible steps through special publicity to civic and other community com-munity organizations to encourage encour-age well qualified persons to apply ap-ply for the examination. Competitors for the postmaster postmas-ter vacancy iu this city must show that they can deal with the public agreeably and effectively and that they are reliable citizens citi-zens who would command the respect and confidence of patrons pat-rons of the past office. They must also show that their background back-ground will enable them to main tain simple records of accounts or that it has given them a knowledge of postal procedures. Applicants must take a written test. Those who pass will be assigned as-signed final ratings on the basis of this test and on their experience, exper-ience, ability, and character. There is a 1-year residence requirement re-quirement and applicants must be at least 21 years of age and must not have passed their sixty third birthday. Complete information about the examination requirements and instructions for filing applications appli-cations may be obtained at the post office for which this examination exam-ination is being announced. Application Ap-plication forms must be received receiv-ed in the U. S. Civil Service Commission, Washington 25, D. C, not later than the closing date. |
