Show HURRICANE Mrs. Thomas Hinton (AUNT MTNA) Reporter Edward B. Welch SlC has advised ad-vised his wife, Phyllis Gibson Welch, that he is attending the Hugh Manley school in Chicago for 30 days before receiving another an-other assignment with the U S navy. Davis Wilson, FFMB3C. son of Mr. and Mrs. G. B. Wilson is home on 30 day leave from Okinawa Okin-awa where he has spent the last two years. Mr. and Mrs. Wilson accompanied their son to Los Angeles where they will meet his fiance, Miss Roxy Lewcheney and her parents, and will attend the marriage of the couple in the Mesa L D S Temple. Mr. and Mrs. Homer Engle-stead Engle-stead have a telegram from their son, Quin, who is in Philadelphia and will arrive home in January. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph W. Webb have returned from Salt Lake City where they attended the annual Cannon family reunion held Dec. 3, the anniversary of their - grandfather, George Q. Cannon. This year there were more than 300 relatives from Utah, Idaho, Nevada and California Calif-ornia attending.. Mrs. Thomas Eagar accompanied accompani-ed her daughter, Mrs. Rex Dutton to El Paso, Texas, where she will join her husband, Pvt. Dutton who is located there in military training. Stake Missionaries were responsible respon-sible for the program in the North ward sacrament meeting Sunday. Speakers were Elaine S. Adams, Winford Spendlove, Joseph Jos-eph Hinteon, Bernard Isom and Keith Tobler, and Gwynne B. Hirschi gave a violin solo "Serenade" "Sere-nade" accompanied by Elva Whright. Guests over the week end of Mr. and Mrs. Joel Roundy were their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Golden Roundy and four children of Blue Water, New Mexico. The group spent Friday in Cedar' City visiting relatives. (Held over from last week) Mrs. Elmer Gibson has gone to Salt Lake City to be with her daughter, Norda (Mrs. Maurice Cook) who gave birth to a daughter, Nov. 30. Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Klein-man Klein-man christened their infant son, Van Hirschi KJeinman in the South ward services Sunday. In the North ward services, Mr. and Mrs. Rex Dutton christened their son, Daniel Rex Dutton. Six members mem-bers were also confirmed, including includ-ing Hinton, Dorothy Haywood and Luene Kleinman in the South ward, EIRae Scow, Jean and Don Sheafer of the North ward. SSgt John Imlay, son of Mrs. Ada Imlay received his honorable discharge at Greenborough, N. C. and is now employed as mechanic in a garage. This is the work he has been trained for in military service. Mrs. Carroll Heaton has just been advised her sister, Mrs. Em-ron Em-ron Isom, that her husband MMC3 Isom is with her in Los Angeles on a 30 day leave. Mrs. Mack Judd has gone to Sal tLake City to meet her husband hus-band RM1C Judd who is home from overseas. Mrs. Afton Gibson was hostess to the Pinochle club at her home Saturday evening. She also entertained enter-tained a group of friends at dinner din-ner Sundny evctning. Anthony Isom, son of the lnte Mr. and Mrs. Richard 'Isom is in Hurricane visiting and on business. busi-ness. Senator and Mrs. Claud Hirschi are in Salt Lake City this week on businetss. Hurricane is still growing. Excavations Ex-cavations are being mnde for a garage and service station for Or-val Or-val Ilafcn of St. George who, It is learned, plans on building a complete com-plete Firestone store here. |
