Show Wedding Reception To Be Held This Evening For Mr. and Mrs. Elmer L. Cox More than 400 relatives, friends and acquaintances have been invited in-vited to attend the formal wedding wedd-ing reception being held this (Thursday) evening in the St. George L. D. S. Institute of Religion Re-ligion building honoring Mr. and Mrs. Elmer L. Cox, who were married at high noon in the St. George L. D. S. Temple, with Pres. Harold S. Snow officiating in the presence of many relatives of both bride and groom. Mr. and Mrs. Marcell E. Schmutz, parents of the bride, are hosts for the reception. recep-tion. The bride before her marriage was Miss Pauline Schmutz, who graduated in 1940 from the Dixie junior college and last year attended at-tended the Utah State Agricultural Agricul-tural college at Logan. The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur D. Cox of Rockville, and is also a Dixie junior college graduate. For the reception the bride will wear her empire model wedding dress of white crepe back satin, cut floor length, with a slight circular train, this being her own handiwork. She will carry a bouquet bou-quet of white lillies and pink carnations. carn-ations. She will be attended by her cousin, Miss Janice Schmutz, and Miss Shirley Harper as bridesmaids, brides-maids, and her tiny niece, Annette Schmutz as flower girl. Best man for the groom will be the bride's brother, DeWayne Schmutz, two other brothers, Er-vin Er-vin and Howard Shcmutz, will act as ushers for the reception. Also in the receiving line will be the parents of both bride and groom and the bride's two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Ervin Schmutz and Mrs. Howard Shcmutz, both of Logan. The couple will stand in front of a tall candelbra carrying lighted light-ed pink and white candles, this color scheme prevailing in the room decorations with baskets and bowls of cut flowers will be used. Centering the lace-covered table in the serving room will be a crystal bowl of pink roses flanked by crystal candlesticks with lighted light-ed pink princess candles. The three-tiered elaborately decorated wedding cake will be on a side table. Pourers will be Maurine Gardner of St. George and Ruth Adams of Parowan. and assisting with serving will be Fawn Schmutz. Mary Lou Wells, Miss Lena Cox of Rockville. Following a honeymoon to the Parks the couple will reside in St. George until late September, when they plan to attend the U. S. A. C. at Logan. Preceding her marriage the bride was honored with a miscellaneous shower Monday evening, at the home of her parents, with Mrs. Seth Harper and Mrs. Gus Pendleton Pendle-ton as hostess. A variety of games and stunts made up the program with Mrs. Wayne Hinton and Jean Cottam directing. Guests also supplied individual in-dividual instructions for the bride which were read as her many gifts were opened. Among these gifts were two elaborately-netted doilies made by 87-year-old Mary S. Hafen, one of the few remaining handcart pioneers. |
