Show NEWS OF THE COUHTY SEAT Mr. and Mrs. Jos. W. McAllister, McAl-lister, son Rex and daughter, Edna, returned Monday from a ten-day tour of California, visiting with their children, Mrs. Carl Barton in San Diego. Mr. and Mrs. Ambrose Cannon and family, accompanied by Mrs. Carl Winsness and daughter, Betty Jean and Miss Yvonne Barnhurst, spent the July Twenty-fourth with Mrs. Julia Leithead at Canaan Ranch. Mrs. Edward Christian left last Sunday for Salt Lake City to visit Mr. Christian who is employed there. They returned Tuesday following fol-lowing Mr. Christian's mother's death. Mr. and Mrs. Vivian Leany and family and Mr. and Mrs. Archie D. Wallis and family and Ellen-Raye Ellen-Raye Cottam motored to Cedar Breaks to spend July 24. m? Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ward and sons spent Sunday in Rockville with their sister, Mrs. Eleanor Jennings. Their nephew, Carl Jennings returned with them for a visit. Ellis Larson left by train from Acoma last week with a load of lambs which he sold at the Ogden stock yards. He also attended the Covered Wagon Days parade while there. Earl Wood of this city went to Los Angeles last week with a carload of fat lambs for Ellis Larson. Dan Worthen, Keith Hafen and LaRaine McArthur returned Sunday Sun-day night from Los Angeles, where they visited for several days with friends and relatives. Roma Snow and Virginia McArthur Mc-Arthur entertained a few friends Monday night at the tatter's home in honor of Miss Ramona Cannon, who is to be married Saturday. The evening was spent playing cards. Prizes were won by Rhoda Cannon and Ramona Cannon. Captain Howard Cannon of the Utah National Guard arrived early Monday morning from San Luis Obispo for a week's visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Cannon. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Cox and family left Monday night for Los Angeles where they will spend this week vacationing. Mr. and Mrs. E. Eric Snow were business visitors to Salt Lake City July 24 to 28. 3 3 Mr. and Mrs. Bob Nelson of San Antonio, Texas are here on their vacation visiting their parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Nelson and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Judd. -K- -V. Mrs. Margaret Simpson is returning re-turning to her in Los Angeles today to-day after visiting several days at the E. R. Simpson home. Mrs. Nelson A. Empey and daughter, Evelyn, returned last week from Salt Lake City where they visited Mrs. Empey's mother, Mrs. Chester A. Kemp, who is receiving re-ceiving medical treatment. Miss Virginia Schmutz sufficiently suffici-ently recovered from injuries in a recent auto accident to return to her home in Washington, July 28. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Schmutz. ft Here to attend the Wednesday funeral of their mother, Elizabeth Vilate Meacham Christian were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Murphy, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Rowser and three children; Mr, and Mrs. Walter Wal-ter Christian and children, all of Los Angeles, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Christian and children of Keeler, Calif., also F. A. Klein and son Fred, of Los Angeles, the latter a grandson whom Mrs. Christian raised after rearing her own 13 children. ft ft Members of the A. D. Q. club with their partners and guests, numbering 16 motored to Veyo Sunday evening for a swimming party and weiner roast. ft ft ft James Pectol, who has been ill the past week, suffered a slight stroke Wednesday, but is reported somewhat improved today. |
