Grant Ivins, district director of OPA, in a letter to Lawrence Wads-worth, Wads-worth, president of the Washington Wash-ington county Wild Life Federation. Feder-ation. President Wadsworth wrote Director Di-rector Ivins regarding this question ques-tion due to the fact that a rumor was being circulated that "B" and "C" card holders would not be able to use their cars for hunting purposes. Following is the letter from Director Ivins: Letter from Director Ivins Mr. Lawrence Wadsworth St. George, Utah Dear Mr. Wadsworth: I have your letter of Sept. 26 in which you say that there is (Continued on page eight) Gas Use for Hunters (Continued from first page) a rumor going around Dixie that only cars with "A" stickers will be allowed to go into the hills to hunt deer. I am at a loss to know where any such coftld have originated, since it is entirely without foundation. No special rules regarding the use of gasoline gaso-line will apply to deer hunters. As has always been the case, anyone who has a supplemental ration, a "B" or "C" book, should use the gasoline furnished by these supplemental only for the purpose for which they were issued. is-sued. On the other hand, holders of "A" books- have 240 miles which may he used for any desired purpose. pur-pose. In the case of the holders of "B" and "C" books, they also have the basic "A" ration which may be used for any purpose desired. de-sired. "A" book holders, then, may go wherever they wish without with-out danger of being checked by the Office of Price Administration Administra-tion as long as each car owner uses only the gasoline which was issued for his car. Holders of "B" and "C" books must be careful care-ful that they- do not travel farther for hunting purposes than the gasoline furnished by the basic "A" book would carry them. This simply means that no "B" or "C" coupons should be used for hunting purposes. As president of the Washington County Wild Life-Federation, you are at liberty to use this letter in any way you wish to spread this information among the hunters hunt-ers of your county. Sincerely yours, H. Grant Ivins, District Director. Problem of Ammunition The problem of securing ammunition am-munition for the hunt was also taken up by President Wads-worth Wads-worth with U. S. Senator Abe Murdock.' He received a promise from Senator Murdock to immediately im-mediately investigate this matter and to communicate with him regarding re-garding his (Senator Murdock's) findings. |
