Show ' 1 - i Dixie Sorghum Growers Adopt Price Schedule Sorghum growers of the eastern part of Washington county met last Thursday evening at LaVerkin La-Verkin at the invitation of Anson B. Call Jr., county agent, to discuss dis-cuss the current year's production and the prices to be asked. Attending At-tending the meeting were Henry W. Gubler, Winferd Gubler, Walter Wal-ter Segler, Arthur D. Cox, Riley C. Savage, John Spendlove, Hy-rum Hy-rum DeMille, David Sterling, Julius Cox, Ivan Langston and Horatio Gubler. Resulting from their discussions, discus-sions, a motion made by Arthur D. Cox carried unanimously, placing plac-ing the wholesale price of the 1943 output at $1.65 per 10-lb. can, (usually labeled "gallon contained"); con-tained"); $1.75 for two 5-lb. cans; or 15c per lb. in bulk lots, where the buyer furnishes his own container. con-tainer. At the above prices it is understood that purchases must be made in at least 25-gallon quantities. Retail prices were fixed at $2.00 per 10-lb. container, con-tainer, with other amounts in proportion. Because of the possible greater demand for the product this year it was thought best to hold this meeting and fix the prices, which has been done to protect both producer and consumer from otherwise fluctuating of varying prices. |
