Show Prince and Atkin Arrest Negro Thief; Auto Thief Held by F. B. I. Sheriff Antone B. Prince has been more than busy the past few days making arrests and tracking down stolen cars. On Tuesday, Aug. 18, Sheriff Prince and Night Watchman Hy-rum Hy-rum Atkin arrested Louis Russell, 26-year-old negro, charged with the theft of $200 or $300 of stolen property from Las Vegas. Sheriff Ward of that place came yesterday yester-day and returned the man to Las Vegas to face charges. A car was reported stolen on August 18, from Hyrum F. Gunn, of Salt Lake City and recovered in St. George the same day. A tire was taken from this car and sold at Beaver Dam, which has been recovered by Sheriff Prince. Evidently this same man who stole Mr. Gunn's car also stole Barnard Cannon's car at St. George and drove it to Las Vegas. Mr. Cannon's car was recovered in Las Vegas at noon the same day. The man's name was not given, but he is now in custody of the Federal Bureau of Investigation Investiga-tion officers. |
