Show Outlook Is Hopeful For A Big Year At Dixie Jr. College New Teachers Scheduled To Fill Vacancies; Hardy Returns After Year's Leave In spite of the drear conditions in the world at war, there is every indication of a good year at Dixie junior college this year, according to Pres. Glenn E. Snow. President Snow announces that the catalog is now ready for distribution, dis-tribution, and that the staff of instruction is complete. Ross Hardy, after spending a year at the University of Michigan, Michi-gan, working on his doctorate, will return as head of the division of biology. He will return to St. George the latter part of August. To Direct Girls' Physical Ed Miss Pauline Fuller will direct the work in physical education for women. She is a graduate of the U. S.A. C, and has taught the past three years in the Manti high school. She also spent a summer as student instructor at the A. C. She has been attending the University of Southern California Cali-fornia this summer, doing postgraduate post-graduate work. Miss Lucille Hillam, a graduate of the B. Y. U., will replace Edward Ed-ward Christensen in the field of office practice and business. Miss Hillam has had considerable practical prac-tical experience in business practice prac-tice and holds a special certificate from the Gregg School of Business Busi-ness in Chicago. She has taught the past three years at the Spanish Span-ish Fork high school. Despite rumors to the contrary, Coach Stan Watts will continue his work as head of the department depart-ment of physical education. According Ac-cording to a Millard county paper, he had enlisted in the Navy. Rodney A. Ashby may remain in the State school office the first part of the school year. He is assistant state director of national na-tional defense training. Other members of the present faculty will take care of his work while he is on leave of absence. Instructors who have attended summer school in 1942 are: Miss Linna Snow, University of Utah; Wayne Hinton, U. S. A.C.; and Margaret Jones at the University of Iowa. Completes CAA Certificate Ellis Everett has completed the requirements for his instructor's certificate under the Civil Aeronautic Aero-nautic Administration. M. J. Miles had received his certificate earlier. Mr. Everett will assist Mr. Miles with the ground instruction this winter. The Dixie college staff will also include the following, who will continue with their regular department de-partment work: Joseph W. McAllister, Mc-Allister, Arthur K. Hafen, Earl J. Bleak, H. L. Reid, B. Glen Smith, Leland Hafen, Mathew M. Bentley, Ann P. Robinson, Ralph Huntsman, Charles N. Merkley, Ruth Falck, Earl B. Cottam, Vivian Viv-ian Spencer, John T. Woodbury Jr., and Myrtle Henderson. Registration of students is set for Sept. 14, with instruction beginning be-ginning the following day. The college catalog is now being be-ing distributed.
