Show , Our First Post-War Convention (An Editorial) While it is a signal honor that St. George should this year be selected as the convention headquarters of the American Legion and its affiliate orgnizations, it would seem quite appropriate that Utah's southernmost metropolis me-tropolis should again play host to the many Legionnaires, Legion-naires, members of the Ladies' Auxiliary, the Forty et Eight, and others who are visiting here this week end. It may be singularly pointed at thi stime that the citizens of St. George should throw open their homes to provide accommodations for our guests, and is an .indication not only of the hospitality of St. George's home owners, but of the esteem in which the guests are held throughout the nation. The News joins in most heartily welcoming officers of the organizations represented, as well as all visitors over this three-day event, and commends the local committeemen com-mitteemen upon the fine work they have done in preparation prep-aration for the sessions . . . and sincerely trusts that a happier, more memorable occasion may be marked on this occasion than ever before. |
