Show St George Welcomes State Legion- Auxiliary Convention . City Vell Filled with Guests from All Over State of Utah As Groups Prepare for Three Full Days ; Guests Start Arriving on Wednesday Evening; Full Attendance Expected Tonite Everything was reported to be in readiness for the three-day visitation vis-itation here of some 600 members , of the American Legion, Auxiliary, ! Forty et Eight, and other organi-i organi-i zations to be represented at the j 3-day State Victory Convention. SCHED3ERLTNG National Commander The American Legion Wednesday evening to perfect details de-tails for the event, while the convention con-vention committees, headed by General Chairman Roy Williams,, held a short session in the Legion ' hall this afternoon. At two o'clock today the convention was officially official-ly opened with welcoming addresses address-es at the Wadsworth Theatre by Mayor D. C. Watson, Post Commander Com-mander Mathew M. Bentley and County Commissioner Evan J. Woodbury doing the honors. Rooming and feeding accommodations accommo-dations may not be too plentiful, but are believed to be adequate, according to Housing Chairman Charles Pickett, who said that he still has a number of residential accommodations for late-comers and believes the demand will not exceed the supply. This evening's program will include in-clude a meeting of the Department Depart-ment Executive Committee of the Legion at 8 p.m., followed by a banquet at the Hurricane Legion Hall, while the Eight et Forty scheduled to be held at Santa Clara following an earlier Department Depart-ment Committee Meeting. Tomorrow is to be a full day for both men and women, beginning with the Call to Order by Vice-Commander Vice-Commander Henry Pickett, at the Gaiety Theatre, while the Auxiliary Auxil-iary will begin its day with an address by Department President Mrs. H. C. McShane, at the St. George Tabernacle. Both groups will participate in a program of reports and entertainment until the noon recess. A school for Officers is on the afternoon program for the male contingent, while the Auxiliary is to hold its nomination of officers followed by the Gold Star Tea at the home of Mrs. Roy Williams at five o'clock. At 8:00 p.m. both groups will participate in a joint Patriotic and Memorial program at the Stake Tabernacle, when addresses ad-dresses will be featured by the National Representative and At- I xorney ilhis j. iicKeu, augmented i by vocal and musical numbers and brought to a close with a silent tribute and "taps." On Saturday Department Commander Com-mander Victor J. Bott is scheduled to call the men to order, while Mrs. McShane will again officiate on behalf of the ladies. Programs of reports, entertainment and discussion dis-cussion of future plans will be held by both groups until the recess re-cess for lunch, following which installation of officers will take place. All present will take part in the big Victory Parade at 6:30 Saturday Satur-day evening to which the public is cordially invited and the convention con-vention will terminate with banquets ban-quets and entertainment.
